Summer and School Year Enrichment Programs
Many students come to high school expecting that the honors level and Advanced Placement courses will provide sufficient favor with selective colleges to win entry and to be awarded scholarships. More and more universities are looking for students who have shown commitment and passion which is demonstrated by experience and recognition. But how does a high school student pave the way for these experiences and awards? Opportunities for distinction and deeper exploration abound, it just takes a little initiative to make sure that the right opportunities find their way to the most worthy candidates.
There are many experiences that can enrich student lives beyond the classroom. They include early college summer and weekend experiences, such as the Summer Residential Governor’s Schools, the Virginia Space Consortium High School program, and other summer programs hosted at Virginia colleges and universities. However, the opportunities do not stop there. The following is a list of valuable opportunities organized by subject interest. Gifted Falcon parents and students are invited to share any other local, state or national opportunities that you are aware of that are not mentioned. The hope is to create a community sharing board that will benefit our gifted students as they strive to reach their potential.
Look here to explore many opportunities for additional enrichment and a chance to meet like-minded teens.
Thank you!
